Watch what I can Do

Joshua is just progressing leaps and bounds in the pool department.  We went over to my parents to drop off Jaide and stayed for a little bit to do some swimming.
We all loved the sun and the great pool temp.
Abigail getting thrown by Uncle Jason
Abigail snorkling.
Me trying my Mom's hat.

The End

VBS is over for this year. Joshua just lived it. He is already talking about next year.
He wanted to go to closing ceremony and I was just exhausted. But I persevered as I wanted a happy camper.
It is hard to see but the set design was amazing and this picture is of some people getting slimed. He was laughing hard. I am glad I took him eventhough it was a loooong evening.

Time with Tennants

Friends from church, who also live in Yardley, invited us to the pool.  They are encouraging us to get the August membership for the township pool.

VBS

On Sunday I was told of a VBS that we tried to do both summers but due to the Ohio house were unable to attend.  So very last minute on Sunday I signed them all up.  Tracy, who told me about it, is also volunteering so she offered to bring my kids with her.  How sweet is that?!?  The kicker is that the place is 5 minutes from where we used to live!  hahaha.  Anyway, day 1 went well.  They all really liked it, and since our church does not have the ability to host a VBS some of the families from our church are there too!!!

While the kids away this momma... (doesn't play) she throws stuff away.  I felt so liberated going through some toys and stuff that the young ones have a hard time throwing away.

They should continue to have a good time.  I usually like to go and check things out and make sure all is well.  But since Tracy is helping I feel much more relaxed about that!

Time with Friends

Joshua loves Sunday!  He loves church and loves seeing is friends.  One of the other things he loves to do is set up some play time with his buddies.  Well he had heard that they were getting together and decided not to ask since the host family was having a lot of kids.   So he left church with me after first service.  Then after second service, I get a call from Bill saying that Abi was invited to the same house to play with the girls there.  I was concerned because I knew Josh would be crushed.  But I allowed Abi as she was going to be going to Route 56 for dinner and fellowship. (More on that later.)  About 5 minutes after Bill called I get a text from the host Mom saying I could drop Josh off and she would meet me after Route 56 for the exchange.

So we jumped in the car and headed over.  He was sooooo excited.  When I got there I got to chattin and about an hour later Abi says, "You're still here?"  I left then and a storm moved in.  All went well though.

Route 56 - Our church has a youth group type thing for 5th and 6th graders where they meet once a month.  This was Abi's first time as they invited the newcomers to come and hang out.  The hosts have a pool!  She had a fabulous time.  I am not so sure it was due to the fact that they were talking about bible stuff, I think it was due to all the friends plus feeling like a big girl.

Mom's Night Out

Okay so in all the beach hullabaloo, I totally forget to mention that on Tuesday night we had a Mom's night out.   Back during the school year I was looking for a reprieve one night and thought it was a great time for getting together with some other moms in the same boat.  Well about a week and a half ago one of the other Moms wanted to have one.  So we were finally able to get it on the schedule.

Tuesday night 5 of us met at the diner and had some food and tea, hot and cold, and coffee.  It was a great time of just chit chat and laughs.  I am ever so thankful for these women.  They are all other hs moms and really can understand the ins and outs of the day like no other.  Two of us have teenage sons, all of us have husbands, and 4 of us did the reading club together last year.  Oh and 3 of us have kids heading out into school next year.  So as you can see it is such a great mix of women who can come along side each other and just encourage and support or just completely laugh at!!!

Inevitably I walk away from that night always wanting more.  I think we all do.  The email that got sent around stated how we each would have about 1-2 hours... 2 and 1/2 hours later we knew we had to go when one of the hubbys was texting his wife seeing if she was home yet!

I hope to get them on the schedule and this way it is a set time and place and we don't have to let 4 months go by before we do it again!!

The Beach

We really enjoy going to the beach in this family.  So it can be somewhat annoying for me to head to the Jersey beaches due to parking and payment.  But when Jenn told me about this "island" that lets only so many cars on and you can go swimming, I knew I had to try it.   Well she took me and the kids earlier and I was hooked.  I mentioned to my Mom last week that we should go to the beach.  But it is a farther drive than we had gone to last year, however, I knew she would like this beach.  I was told we needed to get there early as they can close it.  I did not want that to occur so we planned on an early day.   She was up for it and was able to get my niece Jaide as well.  And then we also invited Allison (my brother Kevin's girlfriend).  Allie is always up for the beach!

They arrived at my house by 7:40 am.  We needed to transfer all the beach stuff from their car to mine.  They were worried we couldn't fit it all, but my trusty Odyssey pulled through.  We did need to use the rack on top for the chairs.  So we were off by 8:38 am.  I was a little concerned as we did hit some rush hour traffic but once we got by all that we were sailing.  We made it to the beach parking lot before 10 a.  It was an easy and nice drive.  As we were unloading all the stuff to take onto the beach, Stephen made a comment as to how much stuff we brought.  My family tends to make sure we have enough - for an army.

By 11:30 a Stephen was saying he was bored.  I thought about a friend for him but I really had nooooo room.   Things did get a little bit better.  Allie shared some french fries and lemonade with him.  She even went into the water with him (and the others).  And he did not ask again until 3 ish.  The next 2 hours went pretty quickly.   We started leaving about 5ish and we were on the road by 5:30 pm.  We stopped at a Wendy's for dinner.  Big mistake.  The girl behind the counter was extremely confused by our order.  We had to wait a bit.  Once all was done we were on the road again by 6:50 p.  Pulled into my house by 7:45p.  Did all the transferring again.  And they were on the road by 8:10 p.
All-in-all a great day!!!  So great my Mom wants to go again!!

My mom!

My mom had just fallen and Allie was helping her up. We were cracking up.

This is our spot!

Sick

Poor Josh got a summer cold.  He is not happy.  Sleeping has been challenging as well as just breathing throughout the day.  Bummer.  He and I stayed home from church today so we don't infect others.  Also to get him well.  He has been so tired, he has put himself to bed at night.

He loves church.  So not going was a sad moment for him.  He has been waking up early to go in with Bill.  (They need to be there by 7:30.)  He enjoys going in and helping Bill set the video up and they usually stop at Dunkin Donuts for some breakfast.   So, after we dropped off Ste and Abs, I treated him to some Starbucks.  I think that made it a little bit better.

He is already worrying about next week and making sure he will be able to go!  Such a sweetheart!

Working for the Weekend

With all that I have been doing these past 3 weeks (yes, it is 3 weeks I have been in my new home), I really wanted to take a much needed respite today.  But the house had other plans.   We needed to open up a new check account, get some items to repair the washer leak, and unpack more boxes.   Ohhhh! this body is weary and tired.  I have little to no energy as I write this.  Lord, help me!

The garage is really looking better.  Unfortunately not too many other rooms are but here are the latest looks.

looking good!!!  We still need to get the swingset put up.

Bonding

Ahhh!   Friday was a very impromptu get together with Barb and two of her children.  I had to email her in regards to something and then we started discussing when we could get together next week.  The next thing I know she texts me and asks about that day.   And the wheels set in motion.   It was a great time of relaxation and enjoyment on my part.  I really enjoyed having a friend over for some time.  They came and stayed for 3 hours!!!   It was great.

She also helped me because Stephen had a friend stay over for two days and he lives close to her so she was able to take him back home for me!   I know Stephen was in his glory to have a friend to pal around with and go different places.  They went to the movies, park, store, even the train tracks.

It was a good way to end a very crazy week.   Now back to work.

Neverending

Okay it has been a few days since I last posted.  I have been trying with all my might to get this place in order.  I am feeling overwhelmed.  Every time I think I have accomplished much, I find more "stuff" and am at a loss as to where to put it.   AHHHHHH!    I do love this house but I have way too much for its four walls.   As of now there will be many things left inside tubs and stored in the garage until I can figure out where to put them.

I fear this will be a never ending task.  I am trying to finish this before school begins.  Oh yeah, speaking of school still need to get that all straightened out and soon.  I looked on the school website and Ste will need to take a math and reading placement test at the end of this month or sometime in August.  And for Abs and Josh I still have not completely decided what to do.  Do I do it all myself or do I just do the virtual school?  Decisions, decisions, decisions!

Next on the list is the change of address status.  Got that done at the post office, but still need to do license and cars.  Oh and still need to find doctors more locally.

See why I called this neverending...  I feel like I have not had a summer.  I am going to need to just take a break and schedule some fun time.  HA!

Happy Birthday, Abigail!!!

My sweet Abigail turns 10 today!!!  Happy Birthday sweetheart.  Double digits!!!!

Brother

My brother Kevin and Allison came over on Sunday afternoon to help us move the final things from the PODS.   I absolutely love my family and their willingness to step up and help out.   It truly has been a life saver.   BTW - never moving myself again!!!   This was and still is hard work.  I feel so physically exhausted.  I am guessing going on bike rides with Joshua has been adding to such fatigue.  It also goes to show that I am unfit.

Anyway, Monday the PODS leave.  As of this writing one is already removed.  Can I get a woohoo!!!  Just all part of making the house a home.

Amazing

My Dad is one amazing fellow.  He came over on Saturday to help us with PODS 3 & 4.   That now makes two weekends in a row that he came by to help us unload or set up our place.   My Mom did good by him.  He even had plans to go out to dinner with friends but he came to us for 2 hours.  We did accomplish a lot.  Now my house looks like a war zone.  There are boxes and stuff everywhere.  My revelation during this whole process:   We have waaaaaaay too much stuff.  I do see a purging coming on!!!!!

Garage after rain

Pods 3 and 4

Just the kids and I are tackling these.  We did well with one of them.  As you can see by the pictures we were taking out the playset.  Boy those pieces were heavy and I can't believe how many there are.  Hope the guy can set it up next week.

Shortly after this about an hour or so later, rain started and we had some furniture on the driveway.  Boy did we have to hustle to get all the stuff out of the rain.   Some things even went back into the PODS.   Crazy!!!
