Long Beach Mini Retreat

What a wonderful 24 hours I had from Friday late afternoon until Sunday just after dinner.   Robin had been wanting to have a retreat at the beach for a little while now and was seeking and praying as to how to accomplish that.   Thanks to people from church that know people who own homes at Long Beach Island, we were able to have a mini retreat with around 15 women from the Friday morning bible study and various others from church.
It was a time of reflection and refreshing that was very much needed and appreciated.
Bay house.  One of two houses we ladies had.  I stayed here.  Great to be on the water.

Hooting and clapping during share time.

Susan had a birthday.  Rebecca made the cake.

JoLynn doing worship.

Enjoying quiet time at the beach.  Just 3 blocks from the bay.

The birds were fascinating to me.

Trying to go for the artist edge here.

I was elated that my feet were in the sand!

Family Time at Ballpark

Bill was able to secure some tickets from StubHub for the Phillies Mets game Friday night. We enjoy these two teams as I am the Mets fan and they are not.
It was fun. And oh yeah, Mets won!!!!!

Addicted

Okay I must reluctantly admit that I am addicted to reading.  I read about a book a day.  Love the fact that the books are free.  However, lately I have been doing a little more purchasing than I should.  With all that being said, I must admit too that said addiction has made me skirt many of my duties.  Got us in a pickle with bills.  Thankfully my hubby is very understanding.  Now the worst part of this... I have become addicted to romance novels.  (head hung in shame).  I typically love to read suspense, thrillers, or mysteries but most of the free ones tend to be on the romantic side.  Well now I have a crazy obsession.  I seek out romance.  Some of the authors who I have read are:  Jill Shalvis, Kathleen Brooks, Dee Henderson, Julie Lessman, Irene Hannon, Ronie Kendig, DiAnn Mills, Kathryn Shay, Vicki Hinze, Jillian Hart, Marie Force.  I assure you the list goes on.  My fetish goes back to January 2011, when we received all the snow and ice.  It was so easy and comfortable snuggling in front of the fire with tea and an easy read.  I even tried to give up kindle reading during lent.  Did not go so well.  I made it half way.
Pretty soon I am sure there will be an intervention from my family.  So if you were wondering where I've been, that's pretty much it.  I'll try to be better about blogging.
