How Are You?

How are you?  It is a question that is asked on a regular basis.  But now, during these times of coronavirus, CoVid-19, it is a little weightier.  I honestly can answer this question the same way as prior to these times.  "I am good."  Now don't get me wrong, my life has been impacted, I mean whose hasn't.  I am a homebody.  So when my children need the vehicle to go to school, work, or play, it has always been easy for me to say sure.  I very seldom need a vehicle as I don't or didn't really go very many places.  With that being said, I am missing being able to go out and visit family and friends.  You see, we have decided to adhere to the stay home edict.  We do have people in our home, or at least that we are exposed to on a weekly basis, who are essentials.  And it is due to that fact that we are not coming in contact with others.

That is hard for me.  I miss my family.  I miss my friends. Yes, we are doing the Zoom calls or FaceTime moments. But it is not the same.  I can't hug or touch.  I am a toucher.  I like physical contact.  So this is hard.  Please don't misunderstand me, I know we all are going through this, but if I am honest that doesn't make me feel better.

I love my people.  They make my happy and being with them makes me smile.  I have a contentment that is unparalleled when we are all together.   And I know I am richly blessed that we still have the opportunity for gathering.

So now I ask, “how are you?”
