Bill had the opportunity to take some out of towners there last week. He wanted us to go over when we got back but we did not make it in time on Friday. Saturday was shot. As I only looked at the clock two times that day. So we decided to head over there this evening. Thanks to Stephen reminding us. Yes, we are ice cream fans. We tend to eat it year round.
We drove over to Princeton and thankfully due to the inclement weather we were able to get a spot only a block away from the store front.
This place reminds me of Jenny's at North Market. Very frooffy flavors. I gotta say... I wasn't that impressed. We walked out of there with 5 small ice creams and a big tab! Nope not a cheap place to frequent. I got organic raspberry and dark chocolate sorbet. Okay. I really liked the sorbet better than the ice cream portion. But here is the kicker... I had an allergic reaction. YUP! You read right, we were walking back to the car and I was itchy as all can be around my chin and neck. Not too sure what it could be from. I tried to search online about their ingredients but nothing. I think I may call there tomorrow to check what they use. I got all scratchy in the back of the throat area too! Bill had a little reaction too! He gets itchy palms. Crazy weird huh?!?! We both had the dark chocolate - his ice cream, mine - sorbet. Maybe it is what they add to that!
The shop is very small. They can only fit about 20 people inside the
store comfortably. They ask that you que up outside if it is too long.
We did not have to due to the weather.
With the interior being so small we went outside and sat on a bench
right across the street. This part of Princeton is called Palmer Square.
Very quaint and cute. Behind these benches is an open green space. You
can see some tables over the shoulders of my family.
Well, we'll just have to go back to Jeni's when you all are here for a visit! Pear Reisling anyone?
ReplyDeleteWhen you go back to the doctor you need to tell him about the food allergies you have had lately??? That is 2 now, just a couple weeks apart.
