Summary

Well I can hardly believe it has been a week since my last post.  The time went by faster than I thought.  Not because a lot was happening, mind you.  It was a fairly normal time.  We had more snow causing delayed opening for Stephen which in turn causes disruption in our homeschooling.  Plus it usually has Bill home.  Now I love my family but I also love order and balance too!  Wednesday brought a new session for Joshua at the farm.  Boy does he really enjoy this.  Abs and I were at my in-laws where we learned how to crochet.  Yup you read right, I learned me a crochet chain.  Please don't ask me specifics of any kind, I am just along for the ride.  You see Abs expressed interest in learning and her grandma said she would be able to teach some basic stitches (not even sure they call it that).  So that puts me along for the ride.  It should be interesting.  I told Bill that I will be like Lyle the Kindly Viking (veggie tales) and make potholders!!!

Friday was ice skating with the homeschool group.  How I dreaded going.  I was completely tired and wiped out and I had no desire to go. I did succumb and it was therapy.  I enjoy seeing the other moms and hearing their craziness.  Makes mine feel normal!   Well at the end  a friend invited my children to go home with her and her kids!  Good and bad as we were hosting home fellowship that night and I was going to use the kids for help with cleaning the house.  I did let them go and vowed to not let that happen again.  We must clean up on Thursday of ice skating week.   Friday night ended with home fellowship.  We are going through book of Daniel.  Some good stuff!  And now heading into the end times stuff.  Can't wait!!!

The weekend was spent around the house.  Sunday especially was spent in front of the TV watching football.  Unfortunately  our beloved Jets did not win and now we must wait another year.  Sadness was the theme in this house Sunday evening.  My young one was in tears!  He even woke up Monday with more tears.  Bless his sensitive soul.

Home Fellowship Hosts

We had the opportunity to host home fellowship Friday night.  We will be trading off hosting with another family.  It was a nice turnout.  We had a total of 6.  We are beginning a new study through the book of Daniel.  I am very excited about this it has been a few years since I have read through the book and even longer since an in depth study.  We made it through chapter one and saw lots of similarities to the life of Joseph (old testament).   Gonna be a good one!

TGIF

We always like Fridays in this house. But this Friday was one of the more busier ones we have had recently. Of course we started with school work. Then after lunch Joshua wanted to go over to the indoor basketball 1/2 court. We did that for about 40 minutes. I came home and then in an hour had to get Stephen to bball practice. Thankfully that was close. We did not have to drive the hour each way as one of the Moms found a place that would allow us to practice for 2 hours. There were about 9 boys that showed up. Unfortunately not all are on the team but it still made for a nice time. Stephen and I were excited when we returned home by 6:30. Then about 45 minutes later it was off to home fellowship. We did not get back home until 10:30. I am tired.

Happy times through hazy days!

Well it was a good day today.  I spent most of the morning doing the normal "teacher" duties and let me just say the children (well 2 of them) were really focused on completing and not giving me many difficulties.  The eldest, of all people, was in a funk.  The reason was two-fold.  1.  He was woken up early - by little brother making too much noise.  2.  He did not want to do his poetry lesson.  Once all that was figured out we were able to address each problem and continue on with work.  I think once he realized how fun writing a limerick is, he was able and eager to write one.  He had lots of good ideas started and once he wrote them down all went easy-peasy.  Here is his finished product: (going on memory)

There was a sad man from Spain.
Who had some pain.
On his back
There was a tack.
So he traveled to Maine.

Next week he gets to write a free-verse poem.  Oh joy!!   The other excitement for him was beginning his blog.  I will not bore you again as I previously posted about that.  And finally tonight he goes off to Youth Group!!!  While he is there we will be heading over to Home Fellowship.  We have been off for a month now due to all the different things that were happening during the month of April.   It will be good to see all and dig back into Romans.

Son Joshua was and usually is very eager to comply and do his work.  He just finished his second science book for the year.  He is already doing 2nd grade math along with finishing his 1st grade curriculum.  History is almost complete for him.  There are just a short few pages but it is more about places to visit than actual learning.  (Which is okay.)

Miss Abs was an eager beaver today and really did her work fast and good.  I was a little lax with her as I was helping Stephen get started with his blog and poem stuff but that is okay because by Friday she is usually fried.

Good Friday

The children did not know that I was going to give them this day off, so yesterday they decided to do some double work in order to get this day off.  Hahahaha!   The only stipulation was that we were to sit down together and read through all the gospels on the account of Jesus' crucifixion.   I think they really enjoyed this.  While reading, I began questioning the kids.  I want them to understand and know about what Jesus did for all!!
Bill was busy starting our taxes.  I say starting because he needs to make some phone calls about some option that JP Morgan exercised and we did not recall happened.  Ohhhh the joys of taxes.  I am so thankful he does them.  When he could no longer continue he was busy getting the songs ready for this evening for our home fellowship meeting.   As he is a really good guitar player, he was asked to lead worship for one of the gatherings.  It was not our usual place to gather so it was nice to meet new families and others from our new home church.   The children were having fun downstairs in the basement while we were singing and reading.
Before we went out to the home fellowship we had an appointment at the Apple store in Mount Laurel - about an hour away from us.   Our iMac has been having some issues.  This issue was supposed to have been resolved awhile ago.  I am not a happy camper.  Let me back up to say that I love all things Apple.   Have been a fan since 2001. However, I don't like when they don't fix my stuff!!!!!   So we book the reservation and on our way down we pit stop at Trader Joe's  - my most favorite place to go.   I was a tad bit disappointed with this visit as they were all out of the chocolate chip granola bars that my kids just love, love, love.   This stop put us behind schedule for our appointment and of course they had to cancel it and take someone else.  I get that what I don't understand is why they say you are "booking" a time "period" and not let you know that if you are more than 15 minutes late, you will have to rebook.   (Don't tell me I have a time slot and then not keep my appointment open the entire time!!!  Are you with me?!)  What urks me most, is that we did this months ago to get this problem fixed and now I have to go all over again.  This is where I miss Ohio.  The Easton store is sooooo nice and fun and it is a great place to hang out while your waiting for you time slot.  I digress... Needless to say, our computer was not fixed!   Urgh!
We arrived back home in time for our dinner that was awaiting us in the crockpot.  Love the crockpot meals!!!  Just meatball sandwiches tonight.  On my favorite roll by Italian People's Bakery.  YUM! YUM! YUM!   Then it was off to home fellowship - which you read about already.
