Working for the Weekend

With all that I have been doing these past 3 weeks (yes, it is 3 weeks I have been in my new home), I really wanted to take a much needed respite today.  But the house had other plans.   We needed to open up a new check account, get some items to repair the washer leak, and unpack more boxes.   Ohhhh! this body is weary and tired.  I have little to no energy as I write this.  Lord, help me!

The garage is really looking better.  Unfortunately not too many other rooms are but here are the latest looks.

Amazing

My Dad is one amazing fellow.  He came over on Saturday to help us with PODS 3 & 4.   That now makes two weekends in a row that he came by to help us unload or set up our place.   My Mom did good by him.  He even had plans to go out to dinner with friends but he came to us for 2 hours.  We did accomplish a lot.  Now my house looks like a war zone.  There are boxes and stuff everywhere.  My revelation during this whole process:   We have waaaaaaay too much stuff.  I do see a purging coming on!!!!!

Saturday with Jay

Many many thanks go out to Jay for stopping by bright and early to help us unload our 2nd POD.  I know my kids were equally excited as he had two of his children in tow.  (Barb, his wife, is the youth leader in Belize.)  His oldest was working a car wash for boy scouts.

Jay is a good hard worker.  He stayed with us for 3 hours.  We were able to accomplish a lot.  Thankfully is a strong man as we had some very heavy pieces that needed moving.  (Where are those 20 something brothers of ours?)  All but one piece is where it needs to be.  We are in need of the young abled bodied individuals from our family.

Jay and Bill have known each other for over 20 years.  He was a groomsman in our wedding.  And Bill in his.  They went to college together.  The ties are deep and long.   Ever so grateful for such wonderful friends.  Now I am not saying our other friends are not wonderful, because they are.  Due to the holiday weekend and bodies with alignments they were unable to help.

In the evening, about dinner time, my parents, Aunt Dee, and niece Jaide all stopped by.  They wanted to see the house plus give us a dolly for moving the big piece as well as the other PODS showing up later this week.   It was great to see them and spend a few hours together.  My parents just celebrated their 30th anniversay by going to Nova Scotia last weekend.  They really enjoyed themselves and spoke highly of the place.  This make about 5 locations they have visited in our neighbors to the North.
