Delayed Birthday Fun

So happy to share her day with her friends. Over a month late but she really wanted to make sure everyone was in town. Joys of summer birthdays.
The day was spent at the pool, dumping buckets of water for the ALS challenge, and sitting by the fire pit.

Watch what I can Do

Joshua is just progressing leaps and bounds in the pool department.  We went over to my parents to drop off Jaide and stayed for a little bit to do some swimming.
We all loved the sun and the great pool temp.

Hot summer days!

As much rain as we have had this summer lately it has been very hot. That is part of the reason we went to the beach so much. I love being by water when it is the summer time. So on Wednesday after all the commotion died down we just hung around the pool at my parents. It was brutally hot. Bill and I had the opportunity to go out to lunch together at On the Border. Afterwards I went over to pick up the kids. I stayed for dinner so that I could see my Dad and make sure he was okay. He is! (He went to the doctor and he is okay but the doctor wants him to get more testing since it has been several years since any type of work was done.)

Here are some photos of the kids by the pool.

Poolside in PA

What a beautifully hot hot day we had on Monday. So I decided to head over to our PA resort - aka my parents house! My mom is like me we love to be outdoors in the nice weather so years ago she had my dad add a swimming pool to their wonderful yard. The pool is getting old and in some spots (tiles and the bottom) you can see the wear and tear. But it is 20+ years!

We had a fabulous time spending the day with my niece Jaide - my mom watches her 3 days a week during the summer time. My aunt Dee - she goes in and out of the house as she cannot be in the sun too long due to medications she is taking. And of course my Mom - who loves to play with the kids in the pool. We got sooo carried away with a game that we completely lost an hour of time. We had to scramble out of the pool for Sarah, Jaide's Mom, was coming to pick her up. And I needed to get us home and cook dinner before Bill and I headed out for a little time together.

What a fun fun day! It really brought back memories of when our extended family would come down for a visit and we would play all sorts of games and such! I think we may need to plan another one of those times. I see a family reunion here on the horizon!

Here are some photos to capture the day! I did not take many as I myself was in the pool most of the time. You had sweat pouring off your back if you were out of water for any amount of time.

The girls set up this crazy contraption.
Stephen - he really is happy. The sun is just so bright.

What the kids did.

The kids had a fiesta at Grandma and Pop-pops house.  With Aunt Dee around and on Saturday, Uncle Kevin, Allie, Uncle Jason, Tiffany, and Jaide all stopped over.  The house was packed.   That's what makes it fun, fun, fun.   They swam in the pool both days and they got very red.  The top of the shoulders for they boys are lobster.  They are extremely tender.  (Tomorrow this Mama must find some Aloe lotion.)

They did not get too much sleep either.  There were several movies that they watched.   Lots of Wii playing.  Even some DS.  Jaide slept over too, so her and Abigail were awake until 2:00 AM.  I am hoping for lots of sleep and rest this evening.  Never good to begin the week sleep-deprived.   Thankfully we are nearing the end of school.

They also all received hair cuts.  Bill too!!!

That Grandma was busy, busy, busy!!!

Testing, testing, testing

Yes, we are in the process of testing.  Today was the beginning day and we have two more to go.  It is only for the older ones as Joshua is too young.   We were out early this morning to register.   Josh and I ran some errands and he reaped the benefits by getting a frapuccino.   After the testing we went out to Fridays to eat.   Everyone was very hungry.   We really enjoyed the food and I was the only one who brought anything home.  Josh is usually with me on this but not today his hungry belly ate it all.

Here is Josh and Ab at Fridays waiting for Pasta and salad.
Stephen and I waiting for salad and chicken fingers.

After we ate we came back home and then realized that we could head over to the pool and probably have it to ourselves.  Well at least without lots of kids.  As you can see from the following pictures we did feel as though we had it to ourselves.  There were some sun worshippers and only 1 little girl.   I like it like this as I can relax and close my eyes and not worry.  There are two lifeguards on duty and with only 3 people in the pool it gives me such a peace.  It is also nice because they have to play with each other and that is nice to see.  Overall, it was a good time.  Only about 1 1/2 hours.  Hopefully the rest of the week is good so we can sneak in some more time.   I think I heard that school won't let out until the 17th or so.   That also gives us plenty of time for quiet moments.   Definitely looking forward to those times.
